Our Founder: Brian's Story
In Butte, Montana, a young boy named Brian faced daily struggles with his mental health, but amidst these challenges, he found a glimmer of hope in a guitar from the Drum Attic, a local music store known for its eclectic collection. This guitar, with its worn frets and gentle curves, became his sanctuary, a place where he could express what words could not.
Brian's passion for music only grew as he did. He saved up enough to buy an electric guitar, an instrument that became his companion during long hours spent in his parents' basement. There, surrounded by the hum of amplifiers and the scent of old records, Brian honed his skills, the strings vibrating with his dreams and aspirations.
College life opened a new chapter for Brian. He joined a band called Cerebrance, where his talent and passion for music found a new outlet. The band, a mix of eclectic personalities united by their love for music, became a local sensation. They played gigs around campus and in local venues, each performance strengthening Brian's resolve to make a difference through music.
However, life had different plans. Upon graduation, a job opportunity took Brian away from Montana, putting his musical journey with Cerebrance on hold. The years away were filled with success and growth, but the strings of his guitar seemed to call him back, echoing the unfulfilled dreams he left behind.
Years later, Brian returned to Montana, his heart still beating with the rhythms of the music he loved. Inspired by his journey and the memories of playing in Cerebrance, he founded RockTop Nation. This initiative was more than just a return to music; it was a mission to bring the transformative power of music to the youth of Montana.
"Rock the Pit," the annual concert organized by RockTop Nation, became a testament to Brian's journey. It was not just a celebration of music but a beacon of hope, uniting people from all walks of life. The funds raised helped bring musical instruments and lessons to children across the state.
Brian's story, from a boy with a guitar from the Drum Attic to the founder of RockTop Nation, became a symbol of resilience and the power of music to heal and unite. His legacy continued to resonate through the hills of Montana, inspiring a new generation of musicians and dreamers.
